Scanner traffic of the incident began around 9:17 p.m. indicating that a single California Highway Patrol Officer was at the scene of the accident near mm 15.

According to reports from emergency personnel at the scene, one of the involved parties reportedly suffered major injuries as a result of the crash. Two required a stretcher lift from the riverbank and one of the vehicle occupants was reportedly a 12-year-old juvenile.

UPDATE 11:03 p.m.: A dispatcher requested an ambulance respond Code 3 after a firefighter suffered an unknown medical emergency.

UPDATE 11:38 p.m.: “Both patients are effectively up on the road,” the Incident Commander told dispatch on the radio.

  1. There was a crash down the embankment yesterday Friday 23rd about 4pm. Just as I went by I saw a dog and leash standing about an eighth of a mile south on the shoulder
Police had not yet shown up. I was too far along but pulled over, concerned about the dog running into traffic. I could not turn around as traffic was too heavy. Hope dog was safe. Several cars had pulled over to assist the driver.
