A tragic crash in the Lake County town of Nice claimed the lives of both occupants, a 39-year-old driver and a 34-year-old passenger last night, March 10, 2024. Authorities report the vehicle collided with a fence before landing in a residential swimming pool. With no seatbelt use and suspected alcohol involvement, authorities, including the California Highway Patrol and local agencies, are conducting follow-up investigations.
As per a press release issued by the California Highway Patrol Clear Lake Office, just after 10:18 p.m. CHP Officer Zachary Cornell of the Clear Lake Area responded to a solo vehicle traffic crash involving a red 2021 Subaru WRX where he found a vehicle collided into a fence and landed in a residential swimming pool on Tehama St. in Nice.
Upon initial investigation, it was determined that the Subaru was traveling on Butte St. when the vehicle went over an embankment. The driver, identified as a 39-year-old male from Nice, and the passenger, a 34-year-old male from Upper Lake, were both found deceased at the scene. Their identities are being withheld.
Neither occupant was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision. The press release indicates that alcohol use may have been a contributing factor to the crash. The exact cause of the collision remains under investigation.
The California Highway Patrol, Lake County Sheriff’s Department, Northshore Fire Department, and All in One Towing responded to the scene.

That’s a very sad state of affairs and goes to show that we can never know when our time is up and how quickly that the precious gift of life can come to a screeching halt.R I P and condolences to their family and friends.
Generally, that may be true, but, when driving drunk without the benefit of seat belts one could reasonably suspect that death is much more likely or even imminently approaching.
I would argue with you if I could. My own personal experiences with such behavior began at the ripe old age of twelve or thirteen and lasted through my thirties.Thank christ that I made it through without killing someone. That said the list of friends and classmates that were lost during the 1960’s and 70’s is very dark indeed.
What other illegal shit have you done?
Oh wow…have we found the 1 single person on the planet who is without “sin”?
Please, Fuckyourself, step up, cast the first stone, take his confession, and tell us all about your “divine” insight and judgement.
Please, your lowly children await you.
Judge not, lest you judge yourself, for you will certainly be judged an arrogant jackass.
Not that it is any of your business but i will go ahead and indulge you purely for the sake of entertainment and to provide you with a much needed history lesson.I did most of the same illegal shit that all of the less fortunate kids in Ukiah did that grew up on the wrong side of the tracks or on one Indian Rez or Rancho in the 1950’s 60’s and 70’s.Most of us started drinking at a very young age as well as learning how to fuck and fight. We also became quite proficient at hot wiring cars from the several used car lots on the north end of town and going for joy rides. The fun part being that when we got done for the night we would usually park them with the keys in the ignition right in front of or out in the back of the old Ukiah p.d.cop shop down on mason street. And of course we poached all the deer that we needed out on Low Gap,Orr springs,Masonite and Tomki roads just to name a few.And outlawed all of the Steelhead and Kings that our families needed from every crick in the county. Then came the second half of the 1960’s with all of that Marijuana,Hashish and LSD oh my!That’s when a whole new world appeared before our young eyes! The rest is just history some of it good and some not so good.
Regardless let’s let them Rest in Peace they are or were humans who have families…Everyone of us make mistakes…most of us hopefully small.minor ones we live and learn feom..some not so much let’s thank God they did not hurt anyone else in the process and hope that whatever it may be it teaches us a lesson on what not to do or do! Cautious humble ,kind safe ,and do not drink or drive under anything that impairs our judgement medication drugs being tired, speed ,seatbelts…things that do or do not hurt us or others …Everyone sit back relax breathe your still alive.and it’s not your family or friend that your grieving over it.was still a life even at fault…
Amen
