In anticipation of the summer season, Ukiah’s Todd Grove Park beloved barbeque area is set to undergo a substantial makeover. The community staple, known for its scenic beauty and family-friendly atmosphere, will soon boast upgraded amenities thanks to a significant renovation effort slated to commence on Monday, April 8.

MARZ Engineering has been tasked with the responsibility of bringing this transformation to life. Their first order of business? Saying goodbye to the existing facilities to make way for the new and improved features.

The revamped barbeque area is poised to be a hotspot for outdoor gatherings, with enhancements that promise to elevate the visitor experience. Among the highlights of the renovation are:

  • 18 Brand-New Picnic Tables: Providing ample seating for families and friends to gather and enjoy the picturesque surroundings.
  • A Spacious 30’ x 30’ Shade Structure: Offering relief from the summer sun, ensuring comfort for all park-goers.
  • Five State-of-the-Art Barbeques: Perfect for grilling up a storm and indulging in classic summer fare.
  • Two Convenient Prep Tables: Equipped to assist with meal preparation and ensure smooth operations during gatherings.

The project, estimated to span over 3-4 weeks, aims to create a rejuvenated space that caters to the diverse needs of the community. Whether it’s a weekend picnic, a birthday celebration, or a casual get-together, the upgraded facilities are set to accommodate a variety of occasions.

For those eager to secure their spot in the revitalized barbeque area, reservations can be made by contacting the Ukiah Valley Conference Center at (707) 463-6706. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to be among the first to experience Todd Grove Park’s enhanced amenities this summer season!

  1. It looks like pavement in the new picnic/barbeque area! Pavement is HOT! What are they thinking? A small shade structure cannot possibly keep everyone in that area cool! Todd Grove Park has always been a cool sanctuary on hot summer days. Now this area is about to be made unusable when it would be used the most! Let’s have some cool, green grass! Or at least some other natural ground cover! Please don’t pave our beautiful Park!

  2. Would be nice to conserve as much natural beauty and tree shade. Parking spaces, slow signs, speed bumps, along with regular police patrolling and not only when concerts. The weed smell and cursing in playground area is not family oriented. Park signs of time park closes to protect the residential area along with speeders from baseball fields. I’m sure residents up Grove and Walnut would appreciate as we already had fatality last yr. An innocent child or walkers would appreciate more accountability. It’s awesome that the city provides so much for the community! Let’s be be proactive in this as it’s an amazing park that we all should be proud of for generations. Dusk hours closure!
