A dramatic rescue is underway this evening in Mendocino, where three people were initially trapped on a beach, pinned against a cliff by the rising tide.
Two of the trapped individuals have successfully ascended the cliff. However, a fifteen-year-old male remains stranded on the beach. Emergency crews are now deploying water rescue assets to extricate the teenager, who is at risk due to the rising waters.
Scanner traffic indicates the beach is located near the 1100 block of Lansing Street below the Sea Rock Inn.
According to the initial report around 7:17 p.m., the group attempted to climb up the cliff to escape the incoming tide.
The Incident Commander confirmed no parties were injured declining both ground and air ambulances.
