On 11-17-2024 at approximately 4:01 P.M., Deputies from the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to contact an adult female, regarding a possible sexual assault committed against her two daughters.

During the initial interview, Deputies determined multiple sexual assaults had occurred over the course of 10 years involving 2 victims, and the investigation was turned over to the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office Investigations Bureau. The suspect in this case was identified as Matthew Adams who was currently out of the immediate area.

During the investigation, Detectives interviewed both victims and developed probable cause to author a search warrant for Adams’ residence.

Detectives learned Adams was scheduled to return to the Willits area during the afternoon of 11-20-2024, and they awaited his arrival. At this time, Detectives believed Adams was aware that a report had been made and he might attempt to avoid law enforcement. With the assistance of the victims’ mother, Adams was located within the City of Willits.

Ultimately, Adams was placed under arrest for two counts of 288.5(a) PC (Continuous Sexual Abuse of a Minor).

Adams was subsequently booked into the Mendocino County Jail where he was to be held in lieu of $750,000 bail.

Based on the circumstances of this investigation, Investigators believe there may be additional victims of abuse perpetrated by Adams and the investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information related to this investigation is requested to contact the Sheriff’s Office Dispatch Center at 707-463-4086. Information can also be provided anonymously by calling the non-emergency tip line at 707-234-2100.

  1. “Deputies determined multiple sexual assaults had occurred over the course of 10 years involving 2 victims” That’s so sad, it took so long for this to come to light! If guilty he should get 10X10 years in prison! But he’ll probably not get what he deserves !

  2. Put him a cell and leave him there until he does. I don’t care who thinks that’s harsh or wrong. He needs to rot in there for what he has done. His picture should be plastered all over also. This taking pictures off from the booking log is stupud. We should be able to see faces.

    • Kathy and LJ,

      Careful that slippery slope.

The 8th Ammendment to the Constitution protects against cruel and unusual punishment for very serious reasons and is a check against unrestrained and biased government overreach.
Much like Innocent until proven Guilty.
People have walked this path before.
Discounting this history happens at risk of great personal and societal peril.

Revenge fantasies and/or destroying the abuser won’t undo the crimes or repair the abused.
But, it does make it quite easy for a person to become poisoned and seriously risks becoming much more like the predators, criminals, and abusers.

      • Despite Non-Fiction accusing another commenter of being connected to another story here involving an arrest for drugs and a gun-without any merit or evidence at all- they are correct that the constitution does grant certain rights. Despite the fact that another commenter recommended Guantanamo as punishment for the commenter and Non-Fiction raised no constitutional concerns to Todd Peckerhand regarding their affinity for torture and illegal detention-something that indicates less than honest attachment to the constitution by both Todd Peckerhand and Non-Fiction- the 8th amendment does indeed specify rights that would leave the punishment by any said disturbed accuser illegal and off the table.

  3. The accusations are false, the wife of Mr Adams told family members that she wanted out of the relationship and wants the house for her and her new boyfriend and that she was going to falsely accuse him of abuse so he can go away and leave her the house.

      • He did not admit to it. I know the family and saw the messages so you need to stop your stupidity of accusing me of gossip. It will all come to light soon

        • This is ridiculous! The accusations are not false. You don’t know the story, you have bits a pieces of information. Victims don’t like coming to light because of people like you saying it’s all false and a lie. Which is why they could not say anything sooner because the fear of others calling them liars. The reason they were able to saying anything at all about this was because of the events that were unrolling. So please have respect for them instead of putting your incorrect conclusion out there.

So everyone can see how full of shit you are. He’s guilty he admitted it n he needs to get what he deserves.so why don’t you just shut your fuckin mouth.
