Starting in January, the Mendocino Coast Recreation & Park District (MCRPD) will relocate its District Office and Gymnastics Studio-Local Motion, to a brand-new home at 100 N Main St, right in the heart of Fort Bragg.

The new location offers a modern, centrally located facility that will elevate MCRPD’s thriving gymnastics program, which has served hundreds of children ages 2-15 for over 30 years. With classes ranging from Tiny Tots to Advanced Gymnastics and Beginning Silks, the expanded floor space and upgraded amenities will allow students to learn and grow in an optimal environment. The new space features climate control, easy drop-off access, and viewing areas for families to enjoy.

Additionally, the MCRPD District Office will also move into this same space, providing the community with convenient access to registration services and programming support.

This move follows the successful opening of MCRPD Studios at 579 S Franklin St in July, where martial arts and fitness programs have been booming. The studios offer a wide variety of classes for all ages and skill levels, including Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Taekwondo, Japanese Jujutsu, Barre Fitness, Rhythmic Gymnastics, and Recreation Cheerleading. With flexible drop-in options and punch-card passes, participants can explore the many programs and find their perfect fit.

MCRPD is also expanding its reach on the South Coast. Thanks to a grant from the Community Foundation of Mendocino County’s 2024 Fund for Healthy & Inclusive Communities, All-Ages Skate Nights have become more accessible and frequent, particularly in Point Arena. The grant has allowed MCRPD to enhance skate inventory and increase event frequency, ensuring recreational opportunities for families and individuals of all ages.

Whether through beloved staples like Drop-In Volleyball, Men’s & Co-Ed Softball, Coast Youth Basketball, Gymnastics, and Skate Night, or exciting new programs like Martial Arts, Flag Football, Futsal, and Pickleball, MCRPD is committed to providing something for everyone.
