Jeffery Lloyd Hockett, 63, of Fort Bragg, was convicted Thursday, December 12, 2024 on six felony charges, including possession of child pornography and failure to register as a sex offender, following a swift jury deliberation in Mendocino County Superior Court.
A press release issued by the Mendocino County District Attorney’s Office indicated Hockett was found guilty of possessing over 600 images of child pornography, including sadomasochistic material, on April 22, 2024.
The jury also confirmed his prior convictions for child-related sex offenses in Oregon in 1997 and 2006. Additionally, Hockett was convicted of failing to comply with sex offender registration requirements during three periods spanning August 2023 to March 2024.
A sentencing enhancement under California’s Three Strikes law was also upheld, acknowledging Hockett’s prior convictions.
The case was built with evidence provided by the Sacramento Valley Hi-Tech Crimes Task Force, Fort Bragg Police Department, and other law enforcement agencies. Senior Deputy District Attorney Eloise Kelsey led the prosecution and will represent the district attorney’s office at Hockett’s sentencing, scheduled for January 13, 2025, at the Ten Mile Courthouse in Fort Bragg.
Senior Deputy District Attorney Eloise Kelsey will represent District Attorney David Eyster at the January 13 sentencing hearing.
There’s no rehabilitating these predators. Thankful the three strikes applied. Hope he gets the maximum penalty allowed under law!
Biden will pardon him, apply quick.
Hopefully he’s gone for good. But he will be out in 10 years ( if he’s not killed inside) to do it all over again. Best thing the courts could do is put him in general population in prison. Let the he boys take care of him. Save tax payers money not to house this POS.
