Cloverdale McDonald’s robbed in broad daylight, suspect at large

The following is a press release issued by the Cloverdale Police Department:

The Cloverdale Police Department is actively investigating a robbery that took place at the McDonald’s restaurant located at 1149 S. Cloverdale Blvd. on January 29, 2025, at approximately 3:57 P.M.

A male suspect, believed to be in his 20s, entered the restaurant wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and sandals. He approached the front counter, demanded money, and fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash. The suspect was last seen in the 1100 block of S. Cloverdale Blvd.

No injuries were reported during the incident. Cloverdale Police officers are conducting an active investigation to identify and locate the suspect.

  1. I past by there at about that time today. there was a homeless guy at the corner of S. Cloverdale Blvd. when you enter to go to CVS panhandling with two dogs and when I was leaving I noticed the panhandler was gone, but had left his two dogs and belongings on the sidewalk. It was strange because both dogs were standing on the sidewalk looking out to the street and not moving. The only thing I could think was that their owner had left to use a restroom or something, but it was at about that time. The dogs seemed strange like positioned statues on guard.
