Ukiah law enforcement announced the recent recovery of a stolen vehicle and arrest of two suspects on the morning of February 27, 2025, in Ukiah.
At approximately 8:22 a.m., the Flock automated license plate recognition system alerted UPD officers to a Honda HR-V that had been reported stolen by the Eureka Police Department. A UPD press release indicates, the vehicle was spotted traveling through Ukiah, and officers quickly located it heading southbound on North State Street.
A high-risk felony stop was initiated, which means officers drew their service weapons. Officers identified the driver as a 17-year-old female from Eureka, with Ahmarri Marquse Brown, an 18-year-old male from Eureka, seated as a passenger. According to the press release, the stop was executed due to the risk of weapons commonly associated with vehicle thieves. All occupants were detained without incident.
Further investigation revealed that Brown was identified as the primary suspect in the vehicle theft, while the juvenile female was connected to the crime. The Ukiah Police Department confirmed in their release that Brown was arrested and booked into the Mendocino County Jail for felony vehicle theft, while the 17-year-old female was taken to Mendocino County Juvenile Hall for possession of a stolen vehicle.
The stolen Honda HR-V was towed and will be returned to its registered owner, as noted by the Ukiah Police Department.
