
A white SUV fleeing law enforcement hit speeds of 100 mph Monday night during a southbound pursuit that began around 9:18 p.m.
The chase started on Highway 253 after the driver failed to yield and swerved toward a parked car. The winding two-lane road connects Ukiah to Highway 101. By 9:27 p.m., the SUV was spotted speeding through Hopland with hazard lights flashing — witnessed by this reporter.
As of the latest update, the pursuit continues south on Highway 101 between Hopland and Cloverdale. CHP and local law enforcement have requested spike strips and aerial support.
UPDATE 9:38 p.m.: Scanner traffic indicates the pursuit has passed into Sonoma County and is currently in the area of Cloverdale, topping out at speeds of 110 mph.
UPDATE 9:47 p.m.: Sonoma County authorities have taken over the southbound pursuit, and they are passing Healdsburg currently. The white SUV has reportedly lost the front right tire.
UPDATE 9:59 p.m.: The white SUV has come to a stop in the southbound #1 lane of Highway 101 near Healdsburg, blocking traffic. The driver is refusing to exit the vehicle.
UPDATE 10:06 p.m.: The driver is now in custody and the involved vehicle has all four tires blown out as a result of the pursuit.

100 mph is not considered high speed on an open highway. In the state of Arkansas, Troopers PIT fleeing drivers at 100 plus mph.
