A 6-year-old boy was airlifted to UC Davis Medical Center with major injuries after being struck by a pickup truck while riding his bicycle in Ukiah on Friday evening. The collision occurred around 6:16 p.m. at the intersection of Chablis Drive and Sauteme Place, prompting a response from the California Highway Patrol (CHP) Ukiah Area Office.

According to CHP officials, a 2006 Toyota Pickup truck was traveling west on Chablis Drive when the boy, riding his bicycle, entered the truck’s direct path. The two collided, resulting in severe injuries to the child. The boy was airlifted to UC Davis Medical Center for treatment, where he remains in care.

The CHP reports that alcohol or drug impairment is not believed to be a factor in the crash. The investigation into the incident is ongoing, with CHP Officer W. Todd leading the case. Authorities are asking anyone with additional information to contact the Ukiah CHP Area Office at (707) 467-4420.
