“Investigators said they discovered in early January that 56-year-old Orellana initiated a sexually explicit conversation with a teen from Naknek and exchanged more than 1,900 texts with the girl, troopers wrote in an online statement.”
Sheriff Kendall said the raid was a continuation of MCSO’s efforts to rid Covelo of illegal marijuana. Ultimately, Sheriff Kendall said the aim of the raids is to demonstrate that it is “too expensive” to grow illegally in Round Valley.
“During the trial, evidence showed that on October 17, 2013, in the vicinity of Fort Bragg, California, Ma, 53, of Oakland, shot and killed Kong and Chen while the couple was seated in their minivan in a secluded, wooded area off of a county road.”
“Additional UPD Officers arrived on scene and contacted Halvorsen’s 7-year-old daughter who was iån the back seat of the vehicle. Halvorsen submitted to field sobriety tests and completed a preliminary alcohol breath test which showed her blood alcohol at over three times the legal limit to operate a motor vehicle in the State of California.”
“Lucas then obtained a gasoline can from the back of his vehicle and poured gasoline over his body and the interior of the vehicle. Lucas threatened to “blow up” himself and Deputies near him.”
“During an investigation into the incident, Deputies determined a verbal argument had taken place and escalated into a physical confrontation, where Day reportedly pushed the adult female to the ground. Deputies observed the adult female had sustained minor visible injuries consistent with the reported assault.”
At some point during the six hour standoff, Mendocino County Sheriff Matt Kendall said the suspect had doused himself with gasoline and was holding a lighter while sitting in the cabin of the vehicle. Sheriff Kendall said the flammable subject kept officers from using tear gas or other gas agents used in stand off situations due to the incendiary properties of the devices. Eventually though an Albion Volunteer firefighter on scene reportedly sprayed the subject with a fire hose.
“The people responsible disabled the Fire Station power which shuts off our water pump, radio, and garage doors,” The Leggett Fire Department reports. “This could cause a delay in emergency response. The Fire Department is offering a $1000 reward for any information that leads to the recovery of the tank.”
“The first UPD officer to arrive on scene located four post office employees holding a suspect (later identified as Timothy Raybould) to the ground. The officer exited his patrol vehicle and quickly detained Raybould in handcuffs with the assistance of the post office employees. While performing a pat-search of Raybould the officer located a loaded magazine to a .40 caliber Glock pistol in Raybould’s pants pocket.”
“Deputies administered two dosage units of NARCAN, which after approximately five minutes, caused the adult male to regain consciousness and become alert.”
