“If anyone witnessed anything in the area on either 7/27/2020 or 7/29/2020 relating to the above incident they would be urged to contact the UPD at 707-463-6262. UPD is continuing to investigate the incident at this time to develop further leads.”
After an approximately four-minute bicycle pursuit, UPD officers along with assistance from the general public were able to detain Aguado and he was subsequently placed under arrest. UPD officers searched Aguado and located a glass pipe that is commonly used for smoking methamphetamine.
Upon arrival, the CSO met with the owner of the business and learned that two unknown subjects had thrown a rock through the front glass door of the business, entered the business, and stole approximately $1,700.00 in wigs.
Cesar Toxqui, the owner and namesake of Redwood Valley’s Cesar Toxqui Cellars, asks for the public’s help in identifying two individuals captured by security cameras stealing items from their winery.
“While searching James incident to arrest he was found to be in possession of suspected methamphetamine. While searching James’ backpack Officers located a .410-gauge shotgun. The shotgun had a pistol grip and a cut barrel that resulted in the overall length of the shotgun only being 10 inches long.”

With the potential that the arsonist is still not in police custody, Sergeant Espinoza asks that “Round Valley residents be hypervigilant. We don’t know if the suspect is in custody and there is a potential this could be a recurring event. We ask people to keep an eye out and contact the Sheriff’s Office if they see suspicious activity.”
Sheriff’s Office Deputies and Investigators arrived at the location and located Sammy Tanguileg near the scene. Sheriff’s Office Deputies determined Tanguileg was in and around a 2000 Chevrolet sedan, just prior to the vehicle catching fire.
