The Incident Commander reported the fire is burning in timber, growing at a slow rate-of-spread, and approximately one-half acre in size with the potential to be one acre.
[UPDATE: 30 Acres, Forward Progress Stopped] Structure Burning and Spreading into Nearby Grass Along Highway 101 near Ukiah
The Incident Commander reports there are multiple spot fires spreading from the burning structure into nearby grassland. The fire reported is currently 2-3 acres with the potential to grow to 50 acres, the Incident Commander reported.
As of 3:55 p.m. scanner traffic has indicated that firefighters are responding to a “multiple structure commercial fire” on the 18600 block of Highway 1 in Fort Bragg.
The Incident Commander the forward progress has been stopped and fire is between 1-1.5 acres. The fire reportedly burned in mostly grass and some oak woodland.
The Incident Commander reported that responders are working on containment. It was reported the fire would be held at Granite Avenue and there would be no evacuations at this time.
Initial estimates describe the fire as a 20’x30′ with a slow rate-of-spread not threatening any structures.
California Highway Patrol is being notified of the incident because the smoke is affecting the roadway, the Incident Commander said.

The Incident Commander described the fire as contained totaling one eighth of an acre. The Perkins Incident reportedly spread at a slow rate with little potential for getting larger due to its proximity to concrete parking lots.
