Sherwood Oaks Outbreak Update: Three Patients Transferred to Local Hospital and Another Patient Passes

Categories:

The following is a press release written by the Medical Director of Sherwood Oaks Doctor John Cottle:

On Thursday one more resident was diagnosed with CovId-19, and the resident who was in critical condition passed away.

Dr William Miller and Dr Cottle have been in close consultation about the gravity of the situation for weeks. Thursday morning Dr Miller quickly assembled a team of Adventist Health, Mendocino County Health Department, and Sherwood Oaks leaders for an online conversation. The decision was made to transfer three of Sherwood Oaks Covid positive residents to Adventist Health Mendocino Coast for admission. This quick action helped relieve an unsustainable strain on the limited nursing resources at Sherwood Oaks, until more temporary nurses arrive next week.
