Sherwood Oaks Outbreak Update: Two Patients Transferred to Adventist Health Testing Positive for COVID-19

Categories:

The following is a press release written by the Medical Director of Sherwood Oaks Doctor John Cottle:

Sherwood Oaks had the two residents who tested positive late Monday admitted to Adventist Health Mendocino Coast on Tuesday. They had minimal symptoms, but since the hospital is better equipped and staffed, this strategy will help bring this outbreak to an end.

A total of 22 Sherwood Oaks residents have tested positive, 8 of whom have fully recovered. Of the 8 staff infected 3 have fully recovered, and no staff have tested positive in the past 2 weeks.

It is expected that two of the 9 Sherwood Oaks residents in our hospital will return on Wednesday. Prompt diagnosis and optimum treatment has proven effective even in this high risk population. The partnership between Adventist, County Health, and Sherwood Oaks is working well.
