At approximately 5:55 pm, an estimated 4.0 earthquake struck 11 kilometers east south east of Willits, California.
According Reese Crownover near Lake Mendocino, he was able to feel “a small jolt of the earthquake.”

A series of aftershocks have continued to rattle the Willits area between 6:43-7:15pm. According to the USGS, the aftershocks have ranged between 2.8-3.6 on the Richter scale and social media users report feeling the rattles from as far away as the Mendocino County coast.
