This is a press release from the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office. The information has not been proven in a court of law and any individuals described should be presumed innocent until proven guilty:

On 10-03-2020 at 11:45 P.M. Mendocino County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to Adventist Health Ukiah Valley in regards to an assault victim being treated at the hospital.

Deputies responded to the hospital and began their investigation.  Deputies interviewed a 42 year-old female and learned she had allegedly been physically assaulted by Leonel Valenzuela.  The couple were reportedly involved in a romantic relationship.

During the physical assault, the adult female received visible injuries and was pregnant at the time of the assault. The Deputies also learned that Valenzuela held the adult female against her will during the assault.

The Deputies later located Valenzuela at his residence and arrested him without incident.

The Deputies learned Valenzuela was on formal probation out of Mendocino County. A probation search of Valenzuela’s residence revealed a short barreled assault weapon.

  1. I thought the people who was upset over a kidnappers picture tied up was stupid , if he had escaped he could have killed someone and that would have worse than having a man tied up! I praise them for a job well done!
