The following statement was issued by the National Weather Service Eureak California office on their Facebook page:
Dry northerly winds will increase through the day on Wednesday. Elevated fire weather conditions are expected as relative humidity values fall into the single digits and teens. Winds will turn to the east and northeast Wednesday night and Thursday. These northeast winds will become strong Wednesday night, with peak gusts up to 40 mph possible, primarily over the exposed ridgetops of Lake and eastern Mendocino Counties. Poor overnight humidity recoveries coupled with these gusty northeast winds will result in critical fire weather conditions. Very low humidity, breezy east to northeast winds and dry fuels will result in critical fire weather conditions Thursday through Friday morning.
