[Update: Suspect Surrenders] Man Fled Willits Traffic Stop and Barricaded Himself Inside a Residence; MCSO Negotiating for Peaceful Surrender

The following is a statement issued by the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Department:

A male dressed in black clothing ran from the scene of a traffic stop and forced entry into a residence located at the Valley Oaks Trailer park in Willits, California (2101 Valley Road #19).

The male is barricaded inside the residence alone at this time.

Law Enforcement personnel from various agencies are on scene now. Active verbal negotiations are under way with the male asking for his peaceful surrender.

A reverse 911 has been sent out to residents in the general vicinity of this location.

Updates will be provided as this situation develops.

The following statement was issued by MCSO:

The male has peacefully surrendered to Sheriff’s Deputies.

This situation has concluded.
