COVID-19 TESTING OPPORTUNITY IN ALBION
FRIDAY, December 4, 2020
30660 Navarro Ridge Road in Albion 2 PM – 5 PM
There has been a COVID-19 outbreak at Youth With a Mission (YWAM) Mendocino Coast in Albion, consisting of 4 associated positives so far. YWAM Mendocino Coast alerted Mendocino County Public Health to the positive cases in a timely manner, and has been extremely cooperative in slowing the spread by following guidelines from Public Health. YWAM Mendocino Coast has been an excellent partner, and has also been a great example of what an organization SHOULD do when met with a COVID-19 outbreak.
“Here at YWAM (Youth With A Mission) Mendocino Coast in Albion, we are experiencing our first cases of COVID-19. We are cooperating fully with the Mendocino Country Health Department. We are a non-sectarian Christian organization that trains and mobilizes young adults for outreach and service. On November 21, the students and staff in our training course returned from a 2 1/2 week trip serving homeless people in the Tenderloin district of San Francisco and inner city Tacoma WA. They were staffing food banks, delivering meals to relief/rehab sites, offering hot-chocolate and encouragement to people on the street, and supporting those with significant mental health needs. Upon return they were all tested for COVID-19, but almost immediately one of them experienced symptoms, and the entire group went into isolation. The positive and symptomatic individuals were housed separately from the merely exposed, and none of them left our campus. Twelve days later, the outbreak appears to be contained, and thankfully no one experienced more than mild symptoms.” – Cindi Wagner, Director of Youth With a Mission Mendocino Coast
Reminder: NO business or organization is immune to an outbreak of COVID-19. What is truly indicative of a businesses integrity is the way they RESPOND to an outbreak.
