Clearlake Man Dies After Colliding with Flatbed Trailer

Categories:

According to the California Highway Patrol, a 41-year-old Clearlake man succumbed to injuries after his Toyota Corolla collided with a flatbed trailer on Lake County SR-29. The crash occurred on Thursday afternoon at approximately 5:52 p.m.

The press release said the collision occurred near the intersection of SR-29 and C Street. A 2001 Peterbilt 3000 truck towing a Trailermax flatbed trailer was driving northbound on SR-29. The truck was preparing to conduct a left turn when the Clearlake man driving the Toyota Corolla collided with the rear of the truck “for reasons still unknown.”

The press release said the driver of the Toyota Corolla succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators determined that alcohol and drugs were not factors in the collision.

The name of the deceased Clearlake man is being withheld until notification of next of kin.

  1. I think sometimes those trailers do not have sufficient lights on them. Last night I contacted a turner into my lane and I could not see the trailer at all initially, so I had to slow down.
