Sonoma Sheriffs Continue Search for Two Missing Children Pulled Out to Sea at Blind Beach

Categories:

The following statement was issued on the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Facebook page:

We continue to help State Parks search for the missing 4 year old boy and 6 year old girl at Blind Beach. Deputies have patrolling the coast by foot since early this morning on this recovery mission. Henry 1 will try to search by air today, weather-permitting. The crew is standing by at the hangar waiting for a break in the weather. The dive team will not be searching because it’s too dangerous for the divers. We are doing our best to find them to bring closure to the family.

Please do not go out to the beach to look for the kids. It’s very dangerous and we don’t want to have any more drowning victims.

The man who drowned yesterday has been identified as Michael Wyman, 40, Petaluma. We send our condolences to his family during this terrible time.

Yesterday at around 2:30 PM we received multiple 911 calls about a man and two kids who had been pulled into the ocean at Blind Beach. We’ve been assisting our partners at State Parks since that time.
