Sacramento Man Dies in Lake County Motorcycle Crash

Categories:

The following is a press release issued by the California Highway Patrol Lake County Office:

On March 7, 2021, at approximately 1249 hours, a motorcycle rider was driving a 2000 Honda RC-51 motorcycle, westbound on Butts Canyon Road, west of the Napa County Line at approximately 55-60 mph.  For reasons still under investigation, the rider failed to maintain control of the Honda while negotiating a sweeping curve in the roadway.  The Honda overturned onto its left side and began traveling in a north-easterly direction toward a metal guardrail.  The Honda collided with the guardrail, rotated, and ejected the rider.  Medical personnel arrived on scene and despite life saving efforts, the rider succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.  The rider was wearing a helmet at the time of the collision and drugs and / or alcohol use is not suspected to be a factor in this collision.
