[UPDATE: Fire is Out] Russian River Homeless Encampment Fire Spreads into Vegetation Near Mendocino County’s Southern Line

Scanner traffic indicates firefighters are responding to a blaze burning along the banks of the Russian River consuming a homeless encampment and affecting nearby vegetation.

The incident commander reported seeing smoke building up in the river bed and the original reporting party described white smoke emanating from the scene.

Two fire engines have been called to the scene as well as CHP.

UPDATE 8:46 a.m.: The incident commander reported the fire is out.
