This Day in MendoHistory: May 26, 1899- Three Esteemed Gentleman Graduate from Mendocino High

May 26, 1899 – 3 students graduated from Mendocino High School. This was the smallest graduating class in the history of the school. The school’s curriculum had been changed from a 3-year plan to 4 years. Graduates were: Ewing Dartt, Lewis Marshall and George Washington Griffin.

Ewing Dartt, a locally-famous high school baseball and football player, was the valedictorian and later became a dentist in Santa Maria.
