To all this may concern,

As the owners of the Office Bar & Bistro, we’d like to clarify the timeline of events that led up to the press release from Mendocino County Health Department regarding Covid positive customer(s) reported to have visited our establishment on May 22nd and/or 23rd.

Unfortunately, we were never notified of the incident(s) by the County once their contact tracing was completed, nor were we asked for comment on the press release. We were not informed of the tracing results until the same day the press release was published, Friday, June 4th, two weeks after the date(s) of concern.

We understand the urgency of the press release to ensure public safety, and we were informed that their typical protocol was not followed. We’ve received an apology from the County regarding their lack of communication with us, and for that we are satisfied.

Our deepest concern, as always, is our staff and customers are kept safe, healthy, and continue to trust us. We’ve worked tirelessly through the pandemic to ensure The Office Bar & Bistro is an enjoyable and safe environment for all, and rest assured we will continue to do so.

Stay safe. Stay diligent. We’re so close. Get vaccinated.

  1. Please Tell your Supervisor to lift the hiring freeze on Environmental Health and stop pulling our Director away for continued COVID duties, while we are still short staffed. It’s been a year and a half of shoestring budgets. This has to stop.

  2. Talk about giving at the Office…I won’t set foot in any bars or restaurants in this county. Too many anti-vaxers and anti maskers. You reap what you sow.
