Details Emerge Regarding This Morning’s Deadly Head-On Collision South of Hopland

The following is a press release issued by the California Highway Patrol:

On 06/15/2021, at approximately 0706 hours, a motor home with a solo occupant was traveling on US-101 northbound at mile post marker 4.32 and veered to the left across the center median and into the southbound lane were it collided head on with a Mack Semi truck hauling paper. Upon impact Party #1 was ejected from his vehicle and sustained fatal injuries. The collision caused the Semi truck to travel a short distance before rolling over down the embankment. Party #2 was extricated from his vehicle and flown to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital for major injuries. It is unknown whether alcohol or drugs use was a factor in the cause of the collision. This collision remains under investigation
