Californians Asked to Conserve Electricity Tomorrow in Light of Looming Heat Wave

Categories:

The following is a press release issued by the City of Ukiah:

The California Independent System Operator (CAISO) issued a statewide Flex Alert for tomorrow, Thursday, June 17th, between 5-10 p.m., and is requesting voluntary electricity conservation.

The CAISO is requesting conservation during this heatwave to ensure adequate energy supply to meet the
power demands. You can help by reducing your power usage during peak demand hours by adjusting your air
conditioning thermostat to 78 degrees or higher, using large appliances less, and turning off unnecessary lighting and other small appliances.

We will continue to monitor the situation and will post updates when they are available. Information will also be posted regularly on the City of Ukiah’s Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/cityofukiah
