Hello, I’m the man Larvie attacked on October 7 and here is the story.
Back in 2014 mr Larvie destroyed the tent I gave to a homeless woman, she was living on Hare Creek. He cut the tent up and threw it into the creek. A $400. Family tent I had replaced due to zipper issues.
I confronted Mr Larvie near the Ft Bragg Library and called him, “man with no medicine” a coward and back stabber in front of his friends. I believe the nickname stuck.
On Feb 23 2019 I was photographing around the Coors Building when a large rock wized past my head and struck the building. I did not see where it came from. After the 3rd rock I spotted Mr Larvie hiding behind an earth mound with a “Davidic Sling” the type Goliath was killed with. He came at me with threats but when I did not blink he turned and went to my bicycle and rode away. A Dahon with 16″ wheels I had rebuilt. He did not get far when the chain came of due to small tires in soft dirt. He then fled the area. I called police to report assault with a deadly weapon. They showed up 30 min later. While the officer took my report a woman walking by caught the officers attention, he stopped interview to capture this petty thief caught on video. My attacker was never arrested and there was no follow up.
Mr Larvie was living in the Coors Building and was lighting fires in a shopping cart inside. Smoke damage was clear. The Coors building burned twice before it was torn down.
I learned my attackers name when he was arrested after the weapon assault on Oct 7 left clear injuries. Mendo County police have a long record of ignoring crimes against poor people and rarely follow up.
I spend 19 day in The Low Gap Inn for defending myself against a man with a knife in 2008. I had reported his threats the day before but Ft Bragg police did nothing. Three felony charges against me were dropped when I requested jury trial.
Daniel Lee Hastings died behind Sun House Museum about 3 years later, I believe he was a CI for Ft Bragg police, a violent drunk who was arrested and released too many times.
