[UPDATE] Two Juveniles Struck by Truck in Fort Bragg

Scanner traffic and the California Highway Patrol Traffic Incident Information page indicate that at 8:13 a.m. two juveniles were struck by a truck near the intersection of South Harold and East Oak Street in Fort Bragg.

According to the scanner, fire personnel have been canceled but an ambulance is continuing to the scene.

As of initial publication, the nature of the injuries and their severity is unknown.

UPDATE 11:30 a.m.: Fort Bragg Police Department Captain Thomas O’Neal told us the collision occurred when a “driver was turning at the intersection of Oak and Harold when his vision was obscured by the sun.” The vehicle collided with twon11-year-old juveniles “who were legally crossing in the crosswalk while walking to school.” One of the juveniles sustained minor injuries to their hand and elbow and the other received moderate injuries to his leg requiring transport to the emergency room, Captain O’Neal detailed.
