Law Enforcement Finds ‘No Evidence’ of Last Night’s Reported Gunfire on Redwood Valley Cannabis Grow

Categories:

Last night, a significant law enforcement response was prompted when dispatch received multiple reports of gunfire near the 2000 block of Black Bart West in Redwood Valley. One caller even reported that a “firefight” was occurring.

Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office Captain Greg Van Patten told us after deputies arrived they “checked the area where we believe it occurred” and found “no evidence of any gun battle or shooting scene.”

Captain Van Patten confirmed the area deputies inspected was a cannabis grow and no one was found at the scene.

Scanner reports from last night indicated that the calls prompted both MCSO deputies and California Highway Patrol to respond to the scene where they established perimeter control to assess the situation.
