Willits Man Strikes Another with ‘Large Softball Sized Rock’ Causing Pain and Injury, Says MCSO

The following is a press release issued by the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office. The information has not been proven in a court of law and any individuals described should be presumed innocent until proven guilty:

On 11-25-2021 at about 8:26 AM Mendocino County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to contact an adult male regarding an assault that occurred earlier in the day in the 1300 block of Casteel Drive in Willits, California.  

The adult male reported that earlier in the morning he was out in front of his residence when he was confronted by Christopher Cochran.  An argument ensued between the pair and Cochran picked up a large softball sized rock and threw it at the adult male striking him in the back causing pain and injury. 

On 11-25-2021 at about 2:13 PM Deputies located Cochran in the 30000 block of Metzler Ridge Road in Willits. 

Cochran was arrested for the listed violation and booked into the Mendocino County Jail where he was to be held in lieu of $32,500.00 bail.

  1. That’s funny . They forgot to mention that the fellow that got hit with the rock supposedly, chased Chris with a axe first . And that wasn’t even his residence. Comes to find out, he ( the one that got hit with a rock, supposedly)was there bc he was in the woods stalking a lady friend of ours and hiding in the woods like a weirdo.
