Scanner traffic and the California Highway Patrol Traffic Incident Information page indicate a head-on traffic collision near the intersection of Ukiah’s Talmage Road and Babcock Lane has resulted in three major injuries.
The Incident Commander is reporting the collision resulted in the roadway being blocked.
The dispatcher is reporting multiple 911 calls have been received and extrication is required.
UPDATE 6:52 p.m.: The Incident Commander is reporting that there is one moderate injury, one major injury, and one probably fatality as a result of the collision.
UPDATE 6:55 p.m.: The dispatcher relayed to the Incident Commander there are reports that one of the vehicles involved in the traffic collision was seen driving recklessly before the collision.
UPDATE 6:57 p.m.: The Incident Commander requested Adventist Health Ukiah Valley be informed they will be getting two “trauma patients” as a result of the collision.
UPDATE 7:03 p.m. The Incident Commander and dispatch are discussing a reporting party who is advising one of the vehicles involved in the collision cut in front of them and then proceeded to collide with another vehicle.
UPDATE 7:06 p.m.: Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office Coroner has been requested to the scene for one of the passengers involved in this collision.
UPDATE 7:10 p.m.: Air ambulances have declined to respond to the incident due to weather.
UPDATE 7:23 p.m.: The Incident Commander reported all the patients requiring medical care have been transported to AHUV.
UPDATE 7:30 p.m.: Investigators are being dispatched to the scene to examine the wreckage for evidence.
UPDATE 8:00 p.m. The Incident Commander reported the deceased individual has been extricated from the vehicle at the scene and resources are beginning to be released from the scene.
