‘No Obvious Signs of Foul Play’: Law Enforcement Locates 42-Year-Old Man Deceased on Former Cannabis Garden in Whitethorn

Categories:

Demonstrating the fluid nature of breaking news and the importance of investigation, Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office Captain Greg Van Patten told us that investigators determined the deceased individual located on Briceland Road proved “different than initially reported.”

Initially reported as a deceased individual on a cannabis grow, investigators found that a 42-year-old man had been deceased “for several days” on an old marijuana grow site with “no obvious signs of foul play.”

Captain Van Patten said a landlord had located his deceased tenant in a residence that was “unkempt and had unhealthy living conditions.”

The dead man’s next-of-kin who are out of the country have yet to be notified of their loved one’s death and Captain Van Patten said the man’s cause of death is being actively investigated by the coroner who will determine it “after an autopsy.”
