At approximately 1:14 p.m today a multi-vehicle accident occurred in the southbound lane of Highway 101 near the Sonoma County community of Healdsburg. Initial reports indicated at least six vehicles were involved and the accident resulted in three major injuries and two-three minor injuries. The southbound lanes of Highway 101 are just reopening but traffic congestion is signficant
A post from the CHP-Santa Rosa Facebook page said the crash occurred in between an on/off-ramp and southbound traffic is being diverted off to Healdsburg Avenue/Old Redwood Highway. Any drivers exiting “can immediately re-enter the freeway.” However, CHP suggests that if possible, the area be avoided due to the significant congestion.
Shoutout to the Facebook page Sonoma County Scanner Updates for their reporting on the incident.
