Categories:

The following is a press release issued by the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office. The information has not been proven in a court of law and any individuals described should be presumed innocent until proven guilty:

On 02-24-2022 at 10:17 P.M. Mendocino County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to a disturbance between family members in the 12900 block of Nokomis Road in Hopland, California.

Deputies were advised an adult female had reportedly been hit by her uncle in the arm with a stick and possibly had broken her arm.

Upon arrival, Deputies learned the adult female had gone outside to try and diffuse a situation between her uncle, Burt Sloan, and some of her other family members.  Upon contacting Sloan, she was hit in the left arm with either a stick or a bat before Sloan left the area.

Deputies observed swelling and bruising on the adult female’s left arm near her elbow. The adult female appeared to be in a lot of pain and was transported to the hospital for medical evaluation/treatment.

Deputies eventually located Sloan in a residence about a mile away from the above address.
