[UPDATE]Vegetation Fire Flares Up After Vehicles Collide Near the Intersection of Hwy 101 and Ukiah’s Talmage Road

Around 5:22 p.m., scanner traffic and the California Highway Patrol Traffic Incident Information page indicated a two-vehicle collision occurred near the intersection of Highway 101 and Ukiah’s Talmage Road.

The vehicles ended up in the center divider tangled in wire where the Incident Commander is reporting a 20’x50′ grass fire lit up as a result. The fire would be mopped up in approximately 20 minutes, the Incident Commander told the dispatcher.

The collision occurred near the onramp on the east side of Highway 101 where a tan pickup reportedly collided with a dark SUV.

UPDATE 5:52 p.m.: The CHP Incident Information page indicates the SUV involved with the collision is a Toyota and as a result of the accident experienced major front-end damage.

UPDATE 6:21 p.m.: The CHP Incident Information page indicates that a “minor injury’ resulted from the collision.
