On 08/31/22 at approximately 8:55 PM, members of the Napa Fire Department and Napa Police Department responded to the report of a single body located in the crawl space of a business located on the 1200 Block of Jefferson Street, in the City of Napa. Initial investigation indicated the decedent had been in that location for several days. Detectives from Napa Police Department Investigations Bureau responded to the scene and initiated an investigation, in cooperation with investigators from the Napa Sheriff’s Office Coroner Division.

Based on the preliminary investigation, it was determined the decedent is a 62-year-old male from Lake County. At this time, the next of kin have not been notified, therefore his identity is not being released. There are no signs of foul play or criminal elements related to the death. It appears the decedent entered the crawl space from an opening located in the backyard. The cause of death is still under investigation and any inquiries should be made to the Napa Sheriff’s Office Coroners Division.
