The following is a press release issued by the Cloverdale Police Department. The information has not been proven in a court of law and any individuals described should be presumed innocent until proven guilty:
On 09-11-2022 around 8:45 am Cloverdale officers made contact with 2 people who were
sleeping in a blue Dodge Journey that was parked in front of a private driveway on Asti Road. Officers determined that the driver, 39 year-old Maggie Tapia of Crescent City was on active felony probation.
Because of Tapia’s probation status along with the odor of narcotics coming from the vehicle, both she and her passenger were asked to exit the vehicle to facilitate a probation search of Tapia and her vehicle.
Inside the car officers located 2 pounds of suspected methamphetamine as well as approximately 3 ounces of suspected fentanyl. Various suspected drug paraphernalia and
evidence of narcotics sales were also recovered from the vehicle. The approximate street value of 2 pounds of methamphetamine is $54,000 to $80,000.
According to the DEA, the amount of suspected fentanyl located at this scene amounts to
approximately 39,100 lethal doses. Fentanyl is a synthetic opioid that is up to 50 times stronger than heroin and 100 times stronger than morphine. Over 150 people die every day from overdoses related to synthetic opioids like fentanyl.
Tapia and her passenger, 38 year-old Anthony Grayson of Ukiah, were both arrested for
multiple felony drug charges and were booked into the Sonoma County Jail.
Due to California legislation, the charges in this case offered a zero bail, which meant that the two would be released immediately with citations. Officers contacted a superior court judge and were authorized to enhance the bail to $100,000 per person.

I want to know why the Cloverdale Police Department had to add this nonsense to their press release. $100,000 is a normal amount of bail for this kind of offense. The Sonoma County Superior Court bail schedule clearly indicates that this charge would not qualify for the temporary pandemic zero-bail, at all.
How could something like that require no bail. Our citizens are dying at an alarming rate due to fentanyl. Criminals are not afraid of law-enforcement anymore so they do what they please. Our state is going to hell in a handbasket. Time to get rid of all of these liberal politicians.
Absolutely disgusting who knows how many people these two have killed. Keep the world safe keep them off the streets please. Don’t let them out they’ve proven that they have no care for anyone or anything. People like that are a danger to others!

In Ukiah they just would have had their drugs liberated for resale if they hit the right cop.
At least Cloverdale made the arrest.
