A barn is engulfed in flames at Albion’s Salmon Creek Farms this afternoon and there are reports of explosions and the possibility of spreading to other structures.
Scanner traffic beginning at 2:07 p.m. indicates that a barn at 32997 Middle Ridge Road at Salmon Creek Farms is on fire.
Albion Fire has been dispatched to the scene as well as CAL FIRE.
UPDATE 2:13 p.m.: An engine from Mendocino Fire has been requested to assist in firefighting efforts.
UPDATE 2:25 p.m.: Units have yet to arrive at the scene by the dispatcher reported that the reporting party conveyed the “fire is almost completely out at this time.”.
UPDATE 2:37 p.m.: The Incident Commander on scene relayed to dispatch a 12’x12′ structure is fully involved and clearly identified two five-gallon propane tanks in the flames.
UPDATE 3:16 p.m.: More firefighters are being requested to the scene after the barn fire extended into nearby vegetation causing a fire 50’x70′ in size.
UPDATE 5:43 p.m.: Resources are being released from the fire.
