The following is a press release issued by the GrassRoots Institute:
The GrassRoots Institute will be holding an open meeting on Sunday, April 23rd at the Caspar Community Center from noon to 2pm, following the 4th Sunday Caspar Breakfast. The meeting will start with a guest presentation from U’i Wesley of Xa Kako Dile: who will be discussing the new indigenous and women-led nonprofit at Fortunate Farm. After a short break, we will gather together to talk about the challenges Mendocino County is facing as we move forward through 2023 and beyond. All are welcome and encouraged to come ready to listen, share, and brainstorm!
The GrassRoots Institute is dedicated to pursuing progressive solutions for the common good. We have eight working groups tackling challenges from water conservation to native plant restoration. These teams come together regularly via zoom and in person- gathering to celebrate the work we are doing and make plans for the future. Our in-person meetings are once a quarter on the 4th Sunday of the month and our zoom meetings are on the first Wednesday of the intervening months from 7-9pm.
