The following is a press release from Sonoma Clean Power. For full disclosure, Sonoma Clean Power is one of MendoFever’s advertisers:
Sonoma Clean Power (SCP) will host an exhibit of 18 works by 10 local artists at its new all-electric, “grid optimal” headquarters over the next five months. The public is invited to the opening reception on Friday, April 28, from 3 to 6 p.m. The exhibit will remain on display through a closing reception on September 9.
“We are delighted to present this wonderful locally created art to our friends and neighbors,” said Geof Syphers, Sonoma Clean Power CEO. “And, we take special pride in presenting it at our headquarters in the world’s first GridOptimal® building.”
SCP’s renovated HQ has transformed a two-story, 1979 structure into the world’s first building whose operation helps lower carbon emissions twenty-four hours per day. Syphers added, “Our facility supports SCP’s mission to use climate-friendly materials, provide a healthy workplace, and support the transition to a 100% renewable power grid.”
Art @ SCP curator Vicky Kumpfer, Santa Rosa’s Public Art Coordinator for nearly two decades, called attention to “the power of bringing art into everyday life.” Kumpfer named the artists and the works to be displayed in the exhibit:
- Patrice Wachs, Sebastopol, Pt. Reyes Station Barn
- Bill Kane, Petaluma, LenEM-25
- C.K. Itamura, Santa Rosa, Covers: A Pandemic-Endemic Era Project
- Dominique Pfahl, Graton, La Belle et la Bête and Le Faiseur de Balais
- Gen Zorich, Sebastopol, Four works from California Dreaming Series

Press release issued too late for anyone to attend the opening, and zero mention of even roughly where their HQ might be. Not too swift.
