All four lanes of Highway 101 have been blocked this evening between Willits and Laytonville just south of the intersection with State Route 162 after a two-vehicle traffic collision.
Initial reports from the scene indicate one involved party suffered internal injuries.
Scanner traffic and the California Highway Patrol Traffic Incident Information page describe the crash occurring around 10:45 p.m. near Highway 101’s intersection with Underpass Road. There is reportedly one truck overturned and a transit van with major front-end damage.
Tow trucks are being expedited to the scene to clear the roadway and the Caltrans Quickmap shows traffic is slowing in the area.
UPDATE 11:31 p.m.: One northbound lane is open, according to the CHP Traffic Incident Information Page.
UPDATE 11:40 p.m.: The CHP page now reports that one way traffic control has been set up to “allow both northbound and southbound traffic to flow through the northbound lane.”
