A dead body has been located near Portuguese Beach in the coastal town of Mendocino this afternoon prompting a multi-agency response. Scanner traffic indicates authorities are now working to recover the body.

Tyler Grinberg, the Public Information Office for Mendocino Volunteer Fire Department, confirmed that a deceased person was located.

This comes just twelve days after Mendocino man Quinn Thomas Green tragically fell down the bluffs and was presumed dead after he washed out to sea.

Grinberg said, “For the sake of all families involved we ask that people don’t jump to conclusions and wait for all the facts to be announced by MCSO.”

At approximately 1:36 p.m. today, scanner traffic indicated that a reporting party told dispatch they located a dead body between two big rocks off the bluffs of Mendocino.

Within ten minutes, Mendocino Volunteer Fire Department, Fort Bragg Fire Department, CAL FIRE, the United States Coast Guard, Reach air ambulance, and Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office deputies were deployed to the scene.

  1. I would have headlined this with Deceased Person not a dead body . This is mot the NY Post. have some respect for this community.

  2. Mendofever….you sure make some disgusting comments. Dead body? Really? The last post showed this poor guy flipping off the camera, and spoke more about the homeless than the story about Quinn. Have some respect.

  4. Isn’t the politically correct term “deceased person”?
I’m sorry but “dead body” sounds trashy to me. No offense I still appreciate the coverage on this story.

  5. When I found a “deceased person” that washed ashore, I just called the sheriff’s department directly to avoid a circus EMS response like that. It worked; no large dispatch, just discreet phone calls with only the necessary response.

  6. Oh please, that guy was a ne’er-do-well, violent drunk. Constantly wasted and in somebody’s face on a quiet Sunday morning. Saw him get into nasty fist fights with his brother.

    • Of course you would hide behind a fake name with this comment. This is such a spineless, untrue and unnecessary comment. I have known this kind human since we were kids Quinn was a lover not fighter. I knew him my whole life and never saw him fight anyone. Everyone struggles some more then others. Even if he did have a bad morning amd you happen to witness it why would you bring it up in this context? Why would you purposely hurt people that are in mourning? What is the point? I would love to know your real name coward.

    • The end of Quinn’s story is a tragedy, but not as tragic as your pathetic and unenviable state of mind.

Quinn shared more love in his 38 years on this coast than you will ever find in your lifetime. Guaranteed. He belonged here. You do not belong here.

A toxic, cancerous fool like you yourself will never find belonging anywhere, and clearly you are envious.
