A motorcyclist was injured this evening after being struck by a vehicle in Ukiah prompting an air ambulance.
Scanner traffic began around 6:13 p.m. when dispatch requested law enforcement respond to the intersection of South State Street and Church Street after reports emerged a vehicle struck a motorcyclist.
The Incident Commander at the scene reported the rider had mild to moderate injuries associated with an “open compound fracture” in a lower extremity. The patient will be transported to Adventist Health Ukiah Valley and then life-flighted out of the area.
There was mention of the vehicle that struck the motorcycle fleeing the scene, but that has not been confirmed.
Please remember that this story is unfolding. Information is being reported as we gather it. However, some of the information coming from witnesses and initial official reports could be wrong. We will do our best to get the facts but, in the case that something is inaccurate, we will update with correct information as soon as we can.
I have so many assaults from motor vehicles vs bicycles in Ukiah yet police refuse to support bicycle rights.
