The following is a press release issued by the California Highway Patrol Santa Rosa Office:
At approximately 7:30am [yesterday] morning, we were dispatched to a crash involving a vehicle and a pedestrian on River Road near Rio Vista Road. Fire personnel first arrived at the scene and a male pedestrian was pronounced deceased. We are seeking the public’s help in identifying a dark colored SUV, possibly a (Buick), who struck the pedestrian and then fled the scene. The driver of the SUV is described as a white female adult.
Officers obtained security footage from local businesses that show this vehicle fleeing the scene with major damage to the vehicle’s right front hood, grill, bumper, and headlight. The vehicle was last seen on Airport Blvd near the SMART station.
