Multiple spot fires have lit up between Ukiah and Hopland this evening prompting a variety of fire resources, both air and ground, to be deployed.
As a result, authorities are now seeking a vehicle dragging a chain heading south on Highway 101 and have contacted Sonoma County law enforcement to be on the lookout for a vehicle matching that description
Scanner traffic and the California Highway Patrol Traffic Incident Information page indicate the first fire flared up around 5:33 p.m. near the intersection of Highway 101 and North State Street described as a small grass fire beside the southbound lane of Highway 101.
The next incident occurred in the area of Jackson Keyes Winery approximately one mile north of Hopland where there were upwards of three spot fires. Both air and ground resources were dispatched. Ground resources quickly extinguished these spotfires as well.
Fire personnel are actively combing Highway 101 between Ukiah and Hopland for any sign of other spot fires.
