A big rig and pickup truck collided taking the life of an involved party this morning just west of Williams on State Route 20.

SR-20’s westbound lane is closed this morning as emergency personnel analyze the scene and clear the roadway.

The California Highway Patrol Traffic Incident Information page indicates the collision occurred around 6:06 a.m. near the intersection of State Route 20 and Kings Road.

Immediately afterward, reports came in that the pickup truck was on fire and the big rig was blocking both lanes.

The Caltrans Quickmap indicates westbound traffic is at a standstill in the collision area and estimates the westbound lane will be closed until 10:00 this morning.
