Firefighters Respond to Storm Drain Smoking in Ukiah

Categories:
[Video sent to us by Cody Akin]

Firefighters responded to the corner of Ukiah’s North State Street and Seminary Avenue after reports emerged of a fire in the area.

Scanner traffic indicated firefighters came upon the area around 2:40 this afternoon reporting a fire was burning in the area emitting smoke.

Footage sent to us by a reader revealed a surprising sight: the source of the smoke was in fact a street-level storm drain.

Cody Akin, the photographer, and person at the scene, told us he watched firefighters use some sort of fire-suppressing liquid to extinguish the fire burning below.
